The National Roofing Contractors Association updated its online wind-load calculator last month. It provide users with a way to determine new roof systems’ design wind loads. Roof Wind Designer helps make sure that designers are up to speed on building code compliance.

This free web-based app now includes changes made to ASCE 7, “Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures.” Changes include basic wind map alterations, new roof zone layouts and coefficient alterations
Roof Wind Designer now offers a way to perform wind-load calculations for the 2016 version of ASCE 7. Plus, it lets users choose between the ASCE 7-05, the ASCE 7-10, and the ASCE 7-16.
