Our Viva Series synthetic palm thatch roofing product is incredibly durable and safe. Naturally, our customers often want to know more about the high-grade HDPE compound behind the Viva palm. See, Viva roofing products withstand long-term UV exposure, fire and storms. So here’s the scoop. We make this synthetic palm thatch from a high-grade HDPE compound.
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
HDPE is a strong, high density, moderately stiff plastic. Now, it has a highly crystalline structure. Frequently high density polyethylene is used to make milk cartons, cutting boards and many other durable items. When compounds have high crystallinity, they are strong, rigid, incredibly flame resistant and much less affected by solvents.
Safety Of HDPE In Roofing Materials
Our Viva products can actually pass difficult local fire department burn tests. Some other synthetic thatch with the same fire rating can’t actually pass some local burn tests.
Durability Of HDPE In Roofing Materials
The Viva products have passed passed ASTM D3161 100 mph wind tests. They pass with no netting installed for protection.
Viva Series Products Are 100% Recyclable
